What to expect on the accessible tour in St Petersburg

First of all, Red Sun Tours is a company that creates tailor-made tours which means we actually analyze what museums are able to host disabled clients and how exactly it is going to be on tour.

Day 1 of the Accessible 2 Day Shore Tour of St Petersburg

We start the tour with a port pickup. The blanket visa will be made for you. The guide will be waiting at the terminal gates.

St Petersburg Port

As soon as you get into the Mini Van the tour starts. You will visit the Peterhof Grand Cascade. There are several wheelchair lanes made for a comfortable stroll and toilets designed for disabled travelers. But the best part of the Peterhof is endless mazes of fountains and flowerbed. You can see the hidden fountains which work only if someone gets too close to them. There are golden statues with horns of plenty which explode with water jets. The spectacle is breathtaking.

After Peterhof you will visit the Hermitage Museum and witness the Leonardo Da Vinci masterpieces. Hermitage is vast and needs time to explore. Our guide will help you find a quick and safe way to see the best exhibits.

Day 2 of the Accessible 2 Day Shore Tour of St Petersburg

After the port pickup you will go on the St Petersburg highlights tour and stroll around the city center with multiple stops.

The tour was really well-designed. Couldn't ask for more. We included lunch in our plan last minute but even there were no problems getting in and having lunch. The transfer was just WOW! They used a lift in the car! Thanks! Highly recommended

The best tour so far

We took the accessible tour with Elena and visited the Hermitage Museum. It was easier than we expected, thanks to Elena. In the Hermitage there was a lady who helped us use the lift and we saw everything we wanted. The feeling of being exceptional was really nice 🙂 people helped us everywhere. Turns out locals are really open. Traffic is busy but we expected that. Thank you Elena for such a thought-provoking and comfortable tour!

Wonderful two days exploring St Petersburg in our wheelchairs

We arranged to spend two days with Red Sun Tours to fit in with our visit on the Baltic Cruise. Both of us are full time wheelchair users. No problem for this tour operator.
Eleni had been so helpful during our planning stages that we felt we were meeting a friend when we saw her waiting for us at the port in St Petersburg.
We saw so very much over the two days - as much as any of our fellow able bodied tourists but we also had the opportunity to talk to and chat with Eleni, Anastasia and another guide in training. No questions were off limit and we found the guides and minibus driver absolutely polite, friendly, helpful and remarkably knowledgeable. They knew where to take us in terms of good access and how to get us around the Hermitage - seeing as much as possible - whilst avoiding the worst of the queues.
On the second day both St Isaacs and the Church of the Spilled Blood were accessible, beautiful, astonishing and again the detailed knowledge of the guides helped everything come to life.
We both recommend this tour company whole heartedly.
